Unity and disintegration took to the stage

‘Conditions of the world’  was the subject discussed at a ‘Time to Unwind’ prayer and meditation devotional session of the West Berkshire Baha’i Community in Newbury on 13 October.

West Berkshire Baha’i Myra Erbenova said: “Disintegration and unity are two conditions of the world which are currently running side by side.  Unity is the central principle and ultimate promise of the Baha’i faith.

“Extracts from the writings of Shoghi Effendi show that the vital necessity of world order is largely acknowledged today but the means to achieve it baffle even its most passionate advocates. He said that in the meantime, the process of disintegration continues unchecked and mankind’s condition approaches the stage of despair.”

Wednesdays are ‘Time to Unwind’ . . . .

The West Berkshire Baha’i Community has launched ‘Time to Unwind’ prayer and meditation devotional sessions on Wednesday evenings in Newbury.

West Berkshire Baha’i Shawn Khorassani said: “Inspiration, rejuvenation, motivation, purpose, meaning are all essential ingredients to one’s sense that his or her life is on track and is worth living. But day to day, one is hard-pressed to find or feel them and is challenged to maintain a positive, hopeful outlook.

” The Baha’i writings teach us that the Word of God provides inspiration, rejuvenates souls, gladdens hearts and renews one’s sense of purpose. The devotional gatherings we host in our homes are intended to create an environment of unity and harmony.”

Devotional sessions for September 2010 are:

  • Wednesday 8 September, 8pm to 10pm, Newbury. Subject Life After Death.
  • Wednesday 15 September, 8pm to 10pm, Newbury. Subject Prayer.
