You’re in my soul . . .

‘Soul’ will be the subject of Wednesday’s ‘Time to Unwind’ prayer and meditation devotional session being held by the West Berkshire Baha’i Community in Newbury, from 8pm to 10pm (27 October).

It will be an opportunity to discuss how moving from the ‘world of darkness’ of the womb to ‘ this world of light’ is akin to ‘hastening away from this mortal place into the Kingdom of God’.

Participants at the 27 October meeting will discuss a quote about ‘soul’ from writings of  Abdu’l-Bahá.

Thames Valley Bahais welcome report on human rights

Thames Valley Bahai Community has welcomed a human rights report from UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon, in which he expressed strong concern over Iran’s ongoing human rights violations, including its persecution of Iranian Baha’is.

Mr Ban strongly criticized Iran’s failure to protect the rights of minorities, such as the Baha’i, Sufi, Baluch and Kurdish communities.

West Berkshire Bahai Shawn Khorassani said: “Mr Ban has repeatedly expressed concern over Iran’s ongoing persecution of the Iranian Baha’i community, who are discriminated against solely because of their religious belief. Thames Valley Bahais are very appreciative of this support for Iranian Baha’is.”
