It is not always easy to make choices about the direction of our lives. One voice may tell us to rise to the excellence and another, equally strong, may try to keep us down. The junior youth have recently been exploring the tools that help us listen to the right voice and discussed and memorised the following quote: “Noble have I created thee, yet thou hast abased thyself. Rise then unto that for which thou wast created.”
As we rise to excellence, we find many spiritual forces at our command. One of these forces is kindness and the youth discussed the effect of a simple act of kindness on them and on others. What followed was their dramatic and entertaining interpretation of the story of Androcles and the lion.
The weather was also kind to them, so there was lots and lots of basketball playing on that Sunday.
