Listening to the Heart: Reflections from Prayers and Pancakes — 7 June 2026

Our Prayers and Pancakes gathering brought together friends for a meaningful morning of reflection, connection, and community.

We shared a rich discussion about what prayer means to each of us personally. Many reflected on prayer as a source of guidance throughout life’s journey, something that helps open our hearts and minds to wisdom, hope, and direction. We acknowledged that while prayer can offer clarity, it is a challenge to listen to our hearts, trust the process, and remain open to where that guidance may lead us.

The musicians among us offered a beautiful perspective, describing prayer as a source of inspiration for their creativity. They shared how music can become an expression of love, gratitude, and faith: a prayer in itself. Their reflections reminded us of the many ways prayer can be experienced beyond words.

A special highlight of the morning was a song performed by one of our youth participants. The heartfelt performance added warmth and joy to the gathering and was greatly appreciated by everyone present.

We also took time to remember loved ones who are no longer with us. Participants shared comforting thoughts and personal experiences that have helped them navigate the difficult journey of loss and grief. These moments of remembrance created a space of compassion, understanding, and mutual support.

As always, the formal gathering flowed naturally into informal conversations. It was wonderful to see friends staying afterwards, continuing to share uplifting stories, encouragement, and companionship. These connections are an important part of what makes Prayers and Pancakes such a special community event.

We are grateful to everyone who joined us and contributed to the thoughtful discussions, music, and fellowship that made this gathering so memorable.
