Unity and disintegration took to the stage

‘Conditions of the world’  was the subject discussed at a ‘Time to Unwind’ prayer and meditation devotional session of the West Berkshire Baha’i Community in Newbury on 13 October.

West Berkshire Baha’i Myra Erbenova said: “Disintegration and unity are two conditions of the world which are currently running side by side.  Unity is the central principle and ultimate promise of the Baha’i faith.

“Extracts from the writings of Shoghi Effendi show that the vital necessity of world order is largely acknowledged today but the means to achieve it baffle even its most passionate advocates. He said that in the meantime, the process of disintegration continues unchecked and mankind’s condition approaches the stage of despair.”

‘Tests are benefits from God’: discuss

‘Tests and difficulties’ are the subject of Wednesday’s ‘Time to Unwind’ prayer and meditation devotional session being held by the West Berkshire Baha’i Community in Newbury, from 8pm to 10pm.

West Berkshire Baha’i Myra Erbenova said: “Abdu’l-Bahá taught us that the mind and spirit of man advance when he is tried by suffering. People often talk about the tests that they experience as human beings.

“Abdu’l-Bahá told addresses in Paris in 1911-1912  that tests are benefits from God. Men who don’t suffer attain no perfection. He said that the plant most pruned by the gardeners is that one which, when the summer comes, will have the most beautiful blossoms and the most abundant fruit.”

Participants at the 22 September meeting will discuss a quote about “Tests and Difficulties“.
