Hope for the future . . .

Hope is the subject of the ‘Time to Unwind’ prayer and meditation devotional session being held by the West Berkshire Baha’i Community in Newbury, from 8pm to 10pm on Wednesday 24 November.

West Berkshire Baha’i Myra Erbenova said: “Hope is an important topic for Bahais.  The writings of Bahá’u’lláh themselves are a message of upliftment and hope to humanity, with unity as its central principle and ultimate promise.”

Bahais are taught to “look ye not upon the present, fiz your gaze upon the times to come.’ In the beginning, how small is the seed, yet in the end it its a mighty tree. Look ye not upon the seed, look ye upon the tree, and its blossoms, and its leaves and its fruits.”

‘Tests are benefits from God’: discuss

‘Tests and difficulties’ are the subject of Wednesday’s ‘Time to Unwind’ prayer and meditation devotional session being held by the West Berkshire Baha’i Community in Newbury, from 8pm to 10pm.

West Berkshire Baha’i Myra Erbenova said: “Abdu’l-Bahá taught us that the mind and spirit of man advance when he is tried by suffering. People often talk about the tests that they experience as human beings.

“Abdu’l-Bahá told addresses in Paris in 1911-1912  that tests are benefits from God. Men who don’t suffer attain no perfection. He said that the plant most pruned by the gardeners is that one which, when the summer comes, will have the most beautiful blossoms and the most abundant fruit.”

Participants at the 22 September meeting will discuss a quote about “Tests and Difficulties“.
