junior youth – Thames Valley Bahá’í Community

The Junior Group has recently started studying a new book Walking the Straight Path. This material will equip the youth with the tools needed to recognize the moral issues underlying the choices they make.

Here are some drawings created by the members of the group inspired by stories and quotations that they studied.

‘Protect yourselves with utmost vigilance, lest you be entrapped in the snare of deception and fraud.’

‘Know ye not why We created you all from the same dust? That no one should exalt himself over the other. Ponder at all times in your hearts how ye were created.’

Over the summer holidays, the Junior Youth Group of Newbury met for a two-day camp. There, the girls learned about some mathematical concepts and social issues, memorized quotations about spiritual and material progress and did a service project in the neighbourhood. And in between, the Junior youth excelled in their drama, played ping-pong, made brownies…and developed their strong bonds of friendship.

The Junior Youth programme helps the young people form a strong moral identity and empowers them to contribute to the wellbeing of their communities and the world at large. Junior youth can realise their spiritual potential by reflecting on the meaning of life and offering their service to their neighbourhoods and communities.
