Building the big picture

A subject which is dear to the heart of all Baha’is – progressive revelation – is the subject of the next ‘Time to Unwind’ prayer and meditation session in Newbury.

West Berkshire Baha’i Shawn Khorassani said: “The concept of successive and progressive revelation of each Manifestation of God is something which is very important to Baha’is. It illustrates the unity of religions.”

The meeting is being held by the West Berkshire Baha’i Community on Wednesday (15 December 2010) in Newbury, from 8pm to 10pm.

An ambassador of peace

28 November was an important day for Bahá’ís around the world. A Bahá’í holy day, the Ascension of ‘Abdu’l-Bahá, commemorates the anniversary of the passing of ‘Abdu’l-Bahá on 28 November 1921 in Haifa.

Abdu’l-Bahá was known as an ambassador of peace. And The Holy Land – too often shaken by religious conflict – witnessed an unprecedented event of unity and collective emotion after his death.

People of many denominations – Jews, Christians, Muslims, and Druzes, of all persuasions and denominations; Arabs, Turks, Kurds, Armenians, and other ethnic groups – were drawn together to mourn His passing and to share their common loss.

Thames Valley Bahá’í Shawn Khorassani said: “November 28 is always a day for prayer and remembrance for all Bahais around the world. Like others, Thames Valley Bahá’ís gathered together to pray and commemorate the passing of ‘Abdu’l-Bahá.”
