As the seven Bahá’í leaders enter their fourth year in Jail, we look back at the history of the persecution of Bahá’ís in Iran – from 1844 to present.
Equal in strength?
Thames Valley Bahá’ís discussed Men and Women at their recent ‘Time to Unwind’ prayer and meditation devotional evening on Wednesday 1 June in Newbury.
Bahá’ís are taught, in the words of Abdu’l-Baha, that: “And let it be known once more that until woman and man recognise and realise equality, social and political progress here or anywhere will not be possible . . .
“Until these two members are equal in strength, the oneness of humanity cannot be established, and the happiness and felicity of mankind will not be a reality.” (From Abdu’l-Baha: Promulgation of Universal Peace, pp. 76-77)
